Can I buy the products separately? Can I buy the products separately?No, at this time the products are bundled together for ease of installation and support. What if I don't have automation yet?T-WorMS provides a full testing workflow management system for both manual and automated testing. Implementing T-WorMS while you are doing only manual testing will make the implementation of automation faster and easier when you decide to do it. And, if you decide not to automate, you have not lost any effort. We don't have any process. Can T-WorMS help?T-WorMS can provide a little process or a lot of process, all depending on how you choose to implement it. We recommend that you read our 12 Step Plan for some guidelines on creating some processes that work well with T-WorMS yet don't burden you down with too much overhead. With its support of eXploratory testing, T-WorMS helps an organization move from completely ad hoc testing to structured testing relatively painlessly. What is eXploratory� testing?Exploratory testing, as defined by James Bach, is simultaneous learning, test design, and test execution. It's relatively unstructured, generally unscripted and allows the tester to "explore" the functionality of the software. Exploratory testing can be an effective and necessary weapon in ferreting out and identifying problems quickly. Much of the power of exploratory testing, other than finding defects, is to feed the findings back into the test design effort. This helps to keep existing test cases from getting stale and promotes original thinking among the testers. T-WorMS, via MAT, provides structure for the eXploratory test session by helping the tester record results, note defects, automatically save screen and memory snapshots, save files and other artifacts from session to session, and track time without requiring formal test cases. Session notes can also be recorded and later used to repeat tests or to generate test cases. T-WorMS' support of exploratory testing lets the tester get the testing done while still providing the tracking needed to create valid metrics that cover the entire testing effort. We're a CMMI level 5 organization. Can T-WorMS help?Congratulations! Yes, T-WorMS fits well into organizations with solid, well-implemented, working processes. You'll find that T-WorMS lends itself to working with your processes rather than requiring you to follow new processes. One of the goals of T-WorMS is to support processes rather than force them. If I find a bug in T-WorMS, are you guys going to fix it?We'll try. Please use our bug tracking system to enter the bug. Provide as much information as you can and we'll look at it as soon as it is received. T-WorMS has been act of love that we use ourselves; we plan on supporting it as long as software needs to be tested. Can I get an evaluation version?Yes, we have a fully functional evaluation version that allows only a limited number of test cases and works with an Access database. While not suitable for production use, it's the real software so you can create test cases and get a feel for the software without having to commit your organization to an expensive tool� And, if you decide that T-WorMS will work for you, you'll be surprised at how inexpensive it is. Is there a volume license discount?Yes. Please call or send email to sales@go-tac.com and we'll be happy to talk money with you. I don't have time to re-work what we do. Any suggestions?We never had time to start over either. And we never had people that were very happy to hear about new processes. Look at our 12 Step Plan for some ideas on how to easily implement T-WorMS without burdening the organization. Our most important rule during design was to be sure we didn't hinder the tester by enforcing processes that might not be applicable in a particular test environment. Is my personal information sent to TAC safe?We promise not to sell, rent, lease or otherwise misuse your information. We hate spam and promise not to contribute to it. Why are there four separate products?As T-WorMS gained more and more features, it made more sense to partition the functionality into components, both to accommodate future growth and to easy maintenance. The four components work closely together but can be added to an organization's processes one at a time if that is easier. For example, you might want to start by just using WorM to control and manage tests. Then add MAT to assist the manual tester during test execution. Then add DiRT to store and manage the data. Then add T-API to do the automation. Or, use the big bang and implement them all together. T-WorMS doesn't care � do whatever works best for you. Can I install this today and start using it tomorrow or do I have to re-work what I do?You can install T-WorMS today and use it today! Using a solution suite like T-WorMS may be a good opportunity to review what you do and change some internal processes, but you don't have to. You can beneficially use the tool still doing things the way you do them right now. You might want to look at our 12 Step Plan for some ideas of changes you might want to make and ways to utilize the tool. How much planning do you recommend before implementing this tool suite?We recommend that you think about what works well for your organization and what needs to change. Then think about how to bring about the changes you need (strategically). Then translate the desired changes into a tactical approach. Then implement the tool. We offer consulting and training services to help with these kinds of transitions. On the other hand, if your processes are already working well for you, you may need very little planning. We do recommend that you think about the types of reports you'll want to generate and be sure you habitually enter the information that will be necessary to gather that data. What does the maintenance fee buy me?Your maintenance fee gets you all the minor updates and fixes for free as well as enhanced support. Major upgrades may include an upgrade charge, but this will only occur with the introduction of major features. Go-TAC?
